There is no doubt about the fact that large microwave ovens have become an integral part of your kitchen. You can prepare different delicious dishes in it. It also helps to reheat any of the leftovers and to defrost the frozen dishes. However, there are a lot of myths that make you hesitated to use microwave ovens at home. However, most of them are useless. Here are a few of the examples which will change your ideas about the microwave oven.

Myths about electromagnetic rays:

There is a very frequently spoken myth about microwave ovens that vast electromagnetic rays get leaked from the microwave ovens. However, it is not valid. Check the specification of any branded microwave oven. You will find an in-built interlocking system in the microwaves thatdo not allow that much emission of electromagnetic rays. However, if you want to be safe, you can keep some distance from the microwave oven when it is in use.

Microwave ovens heat food from both outside and inside:

Well, this is another myth which goes quite commonly with the low costmicrowaves. A lot of users believe that a microwave oven heats the food from both outside and inside. However, the truth is that in this type of range, the food is getting heated from outside only.

It heats the water molecules in the food’s outer surface, and gradually the heat gets transferred to the inner parts of the food. For example, if you take a hunk of meat, then the microwave oven will cook until the depth of one inch only.

Metals become excessively hot in the microwave oven:

A lot of people have the idea that the food becomes dangerously hot inside a microwave oven. However, it is not valid. Metal tends to reflect the microwaves, whereas ceramic or plastic allows the waves to pass through.

So, there is no chance that it is going to overheat the metal utensils. However, you should not use a thin piece of any metal inside the microwave because it becomes kind of an antenna inside, and this is why you may see sparks.

Heating oil inside the microwave can be dangerous:

This is again not an utterlyaccurate idea. You can heat oil inside the low cost microwaves because it will first heat the container in which you are heating the oil, and then gradually, the oil will get heated up. However, you should not heat oil for too much time inside the microwave. While heating the oil, you should keep an eye on the microwave. It is always suggested to heat oil ata low temperature inside the microwave.

Microwave ovens are very much safe to use. There are certain precautions that you must take before you use any electronic gadgets. You should follow the same in the case of microwave ovens as well. It is always recommended to use glass containers inside the microwave. It is not because the microwave oven will create any problem in plastic or metal containers. It is because heating food in a glass container will be a much healthier process to follow.
